What Is Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised, multi‑phase program that combines prescribed exercise, heart‑healthy education, and personalized counseling. Your Rehab Phases

We follow a proven, three‑phase model that gradually builds your strength and confidence.

Phase 1: In‑Hospital

Begins during your hospital stay. Gentle movement, breathing exercises, and education to prepare you for discharge. Goal: regain basic mobility and understand warning signs.

Phase 2: Supervised Outpatient

The core of rehab. 2–3 sessions per week of ECG‑monitored exercise, plus nutrition and stress management education. Typically lasts 8–12 weeks.

Phase 3: Maintenance

A long‑term, self‑directed fitness and wellness plan. We provide ongoing support, check‑ins, and a community to help you stay on track for life.

A Complete Recovery Toolkit

Our program addresses every aspect of heart health — physical, emotional, and educational.

Monitored Exercise

Personalized workout plans using treadmills, stationary bikes, and light resistance, with continuous ECG and blood pressure monitoring.

Education & Counseling

Sessions on heart‑healthy nutrition, medication management, smoking cessation, and stress reduction led by specialists.

Emotional Support

Addressing the fear, anxiety, or depression that often follow a cardiac event, with individual counseling and support groups.

“After my bypass surgery, I was afraid to even walk fast. The rehab team slowly built my confidence. Now I’m hiking again and feel better than I have in years. It’s a life‑changing program.”

Cardiac Rehab Questions

Everything you need to know before starting.

Is cardiac rehab covered by insurance?
Most health plans, including Medicare, cover cardiac rehab for qualifying diagnoses (heart attack, bypass surgery, stable angina, etc.). Our billing team will verify your coverage before you start.
How long does the program last?
The intensive Phase 2 typically lasts 8–12 weeks with 2–3 weekly sessions. Phase 3 (maintenance) is ongoing, with flexible check‑ins. The duration is always tailored to your progress.
Will I be safe during exercise?
Absolutely. Your heart rhythm and blood pressure are monitored continuously by a nurse or exercise physiologist during every session. The exercises are prescribed at a level that is safe and effective for you.
Can I start rehab if I feel fine?
Yes! Many people feel physically fine but still benefit greatly from the structured guidance and education. Rehab helps you safely return to the activities you love and prevents future problems.
Do I need a referral?
A referral from your cardiologist or primary care doctor is required for insurance coverage. If you don't have one, our team can help coordinate with your physician after an initial evaluation.
