Quick answers to your most common questions about our cardiac clinic, services, appointments, insurance, and
more.
General Questions
What makes CardioCare different from other cardiology clinics?
CardioCare combines board‑certified expertise, advanced diagnostic technology, and a
patient‑first philosophy. Our cardiologist, Dr. Jonathan Carter, has over 20 years of experience and
personally reviews every case. We offer a full continuum of care — from preventive screenings to
interventional procedures and cardiac rehab — all under one roof.
Where is your clinic located?
Our main clinic is at 123 Medical Center Drive, Suite 400, New York, NY 10001. We
are easily accessible by public transportation and offer on‑site parking. For directions, visit our
Contact page.
What are your working hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM
to 5:00 PM. On Sundays, we handle emergencies only via our 24/7 hotline.
Do you offer telemedicine consultations?
Yes! We offer secure video consultations for follow‑up visits, medication reviews,
and initial assessments where a physical exam is not immediately required. Telemedicine appointments are
available Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Appointments
How do I book an appointment?
You can book directly online through our website, call the clinic at +1 (212)
555-0123 during business hours, or email appointments@cardiocare.com. We confirm all appointments within 2
business hours.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications
(including dosages), any recent lab results or medical records, and a log of home blood pressure readings
if you have one.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late
cancellations and no‑shows may be subject to a fee. This allows us to offer the time slot to another
patient.
How long does a typical consultation take?
A new patient consultation typically lasts 45–60 minutes. Follow‑up visits are
usually 20–30 minutes. If additional tests like an ECG or echocardiogram are performed on‑site, plan for
extra time.
Services & Procedures
What tests are included in a preventive heart screening?
A comprehensive preventive screening includes advanced lipid profiling (including
Lp(a) and ApoB), high‑sensitivity C‑reactive protein (hs‑CRP), a resting ECG, blood pressure assessment,
and a risk‑stratification consult. Depending on your age and risk factors, we may also recommend a
coronary artery calcium (CAC) score.
How long does an ECG take, and is it painful?
A resting ECG takes about 5–10 minutes. It's completely painless — electrodes are
placed on your chest, arms, and legs to record your heart's electrical activity. You simply lie still
while the machine captures the data.
What conditions does your cardiac rehabilitation program treat?
Our rehab program is designed for patients recovering from a heart attack, coronary
artery bypass surgery, angioplasty/stent placement, valve surgery, and those with stable angina or heart
failure. It includes monitored exercise, education, and emotional support.
Do you treat arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation?
Yes. We diagnose and manage all types of arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation.
Our electrophysiology team offers advanced treatments such as medication management, cardioversion, and
catheter ablation when appropriate.
Billing & Insurance
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue
Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealth, and many more. Please contact our billing team to verify your specific
plan before your appointment.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, Discover). Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in
advance.
Do you offer payment plans for out‑of‑pocket costs?
Yes. For patients with high deductibles or limited coverage, we offer flexible
payment plans. Speak with our billing department before your visit to discuss options and avoid surprises.
Will my insurance cover preventive cardiology visits?
Many insurance plans cover preventive services, especially if you have risk factors
like high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease. We recommend calling the number on the back
of your insurance card to confirm your specific benefits.
Emergency & Urgent Care
When should I call the 24/7 emergency line?
Call our emergency line immediately if you experience severe chest pain, difficulty
breathing, sudden confusion, loss of consciousness, or any symptom that feels life‑threatening. Our
cardiac nurses are available around the clock to advise you.
Is your clinic an emergency room?
No, we are a cardiology clinic, not a hospital emergency department. For
life‑threatening emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest ER. However, we do accept same‑day
urgent visits for stable but concerning symptoms — please call ahead.
What happens when I call the emergency hotline?
A cardiac nurse will answer, assess your symptoms, and guide you on the next steps.
If needed, they can coordinate with EMS, alert the on‑call cardiologist, and prepare for your arrival at a
partner hospital to minimize treatment delays.
