Hypertension Questions

Common questions about managing high blood pressure with CardioCare.

What is considered high blood pressure?
According to the American Heart Association, a consistent reading of 130/80 mmHg or higher is considered hypertension. We'll help you understand your specific target and what it means for your health.
Can lifestyle changes really replace medication?
For many patients, yes — especially with early‑stage hypertension. Weight loss, the DASH diet, reduced sodium, regular exercise, and stress management can significantly lower BP. However, some people will still need medication, and we'll guide you on the right balance.
How often will I need follow‑up visits?
Initially, every 2–4 weeks until your BP stabilises. Once controlled, check‑ins can be spaced to every 3–6 months, with telemedicine options available for medication reviews and BP log analysis.
Do you provide home BP monitors?
We recommend and help you select a validated home BP monitor. We'll train you on proper technique and can review your readings remotely. We also offer ambulatory 24‑hour BP monitoring for a more complete picture.
Is hypertension management covered by insurance?
Yes, most insurance plans cover hypertension consultations, monitoring, and medically necessary tests. Our billing team can verify your coverage before your appointment.
